Into the Mythic: Story and Ritual in Theatre
An Intensive
❋
May 16 - 17 | Readymade Works
Step into the mythic realm, where stories live beyond the page. This workshop invites theatre-makers, performers and creatives to explore the poetry of myth in storytelling through physicality and ensemble, navigating the space where everyday human experiences meet the extraordinary and the ordinary becomes mythic.
Explore the nature of myth through a range of examples and unearth the story you truly want to tell through your own myth-making.
❋
❋
Physicalise the mythic: movement, gesture and embodiment as storytelling tools.
❋
Draw on the elements, seasons and animals to evoke the landscapes and creatures of the mythological.
Evoke worlds rich in ritual, symbolism, and archetype.
❋
Through guided exercises, collaborative devising and reflective practice, participants will unlock the mythological in their own work, crafting stories that are timeless, resonant, alive.
This workshop is for anyone seeking to expand their creative language, deepen their connection to story and explore the theatrical potential of the mythological.
